Reed and Lilypad Mobile

I have long been fascinated by lily pads and have included the form in many of my works. Found in calm waters and often surrounded by reeds, they denote tranquillity. I couldn’t resist the temptation to use them in a mobile. This mobile consists of black lily pads gently floating amongst white reeds. As Calder notes, ‘A mobile is balance incarnate’.
